The Village is part of the Batavia School District which has newer facilities for the elementary and high school. The community is built around some older, classic styled homes that have a ton of character. Batavia Township reaches out from the village to embrace the western and northern parts of East Fork State Park. The park offers many attractions such as camping, horse back riding, remote control model airplane field, hiking and all kinds of water activities. It is home to many regional rowing events.
